Davis wins Miss-Lou Bass Club event

FERRIDAY — The 42-member Natchez-based Miss-Lou Bass Club fished a high dingy Lake Concordia near Ferriday on September 21st to finish their first year as a club. The 19 members and a guest had seven limits and 64 bass on the calm cloudy 68-85 degree day.

Johnny Davis of Natchez won with a 5 bass limit of 13.43 pounds anchored by a 3.17 kicker on spinnerbaits. Beau Barfoot of Monterey had a 12.81 limit on spinnerbaits and Gary Waller of Vidalia a 10.38 limit on spinnerbaits to round out the best catches on a pleasant fall day.

Others with fish were: Jr. Book of Ferriday (9.50 limit), John “Team Go-Mart” Bruce of Vidalia (8.69 limit), Alan Brumfield of Natchez (7.38 limit, 3.58 quality bite ), Jerry Houghton (4 for 6.16), Ken McKnight (5.90 limit), Chad Young (2 for 5.75, 3.63 lunker), Doug “Team Kistler” Schexnayder (3 for 4.98, 2.54 qb), Jim Golmon (2 for 4.92, 2.80 qb), guest Terrell Jones (3 for 4.24), Henry Butler (3 for 4.20), Nick Rushing (2 for 3.0), Michael Smith (2 for 2.42), Jay Sandifer (2 for 2.06) and John Gillespie (1 for 1.03).

Also fishing were members Ronny Douglas, James Golman and Buster Martinez. The next MLC event is October 12th on a lake decided October 2nd.

Final Top 15 standings for year one are: Club champion Ken McKnight, 2nd-Jim Golmon, 3rd Doug Schexnayder, 4th-Jr. Book, 5th-James Golmon, 6th-Chad Young, 7th-Henry Butler, 8th-Nick Rushing, 9th-John Bruce, 10th-Beau Barfoot, 11th-Albert Crouch, 12th-Steve Gibson, 13th-John Gillespie, 14th-Jerry Houghton and 15th-Alan Brumfield-Johnny Davis.
