Published Saturday, September 27, 2008

WINNSBORO, La. — The Huntington Hounds have been dismantling any District 6-A opponent that stands in their way, and Friday night was no exception.

The Hounds got 100-yard rushing games from both Jeremy Randall and Josh Lee and pounded out a 40-14 win over Franklin Academy.

Huntington, ranked No. 3 in MPSA Class A, improved to 3-2 overall and 3-0 in District 6-A.

The Hounds wasted no time putting the game away, scoring 14 points in the first quarter and 12 more in the second to take a 26-0 lead into halftime.

Kevin Brown got the scoring started for Huntington with a 3-yard plunge early in the first quarter while Lee ran for a 5-yard touchdown late in the quarter to put the Hounds up, 14-0.

Lee scored two more times in the second quarter, the first from 1 yard away and the second from 4 yards out, to expand the lead.

Huntington and Franklin Academy traded scores in the third and fourth quarters with the game already well in hand for the Hounds.

Randall had a 9-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, while Lee scored his fourth touchdown of the night in the fourth quarter on a 50-yard run.

Randall rushed for 138 yards on 18 carries, while Lee rushed for 100 yards and passed for 60 more.
