Oliphant joins sports staff at The Natchez Democrat

NATCHEZ — Krysten Oliphant has joined the staff of The Natchez Democrat as a sports reporter.
Oliphant is a 2008 graduate of LSU where she earned her bachelor’s degree in print journalism and minored in history and sociology.
She comes to Natchez after an internship with MLB.com covering the Houston Astros.
She has also worked as an intern with the Detroit News, a freelance sports writer for the Baton Rouge Advocate and the sports editor of the Daily Reveille, the student newspaper at LSU.
Oliphant is a native of Houston, Texas, where she graduated from Cy-Fair Senior High.

Welcome to Natchez Krysten... Living here (especially coming from Houston) will definitely be an eye opening experience... People here talk a lot slower, move alot slower, and think a lot slower... Be prepared to be catapulted back in time about 50+ years from what you are used to.... Best wishes in adjusting to your new home and job position....
