Frazier Primary students get moving
Published Tuesday, October 21, 2008
At Frazier Primary School work and play are one in the same.
If its dancing to raise money for the United Way or exercising to strengthen little bodies, it’s all the same.
On Friday — for the low cost of 50 cents — students got a chance to burn off a little energy dancing in the school’s cafeteria. They raised more than $400 for the United Way of the Greater Miss-Lou.
Monday morning, the school kicked off its “Let’s Go Walkin’ Mississippi” program with a round of jumping-jacks, running in place and other exercise routines.
Above, Maria Bradley, 6, and Terranishal Hannah, 6, perform jumping jacks at the front of the walking line Monday. At top, arms wave madly in the cafeteria during Friday’s dance-a-thon. And at bottom, feet march in line to promote healthy living.

This is good and positive, and yet no comments. I should have been there to contribute.....and exercise, because I could stand to lose a couple of pounds(+30).

I was trying to keep my comment to myself... That's my niece on the front page breaking it down white girl style!! (that's what we call what she is doing...) Her Mama is gonna kill me... I taught her that!! LOL... I think this was a great idea to raise money. I know the kids LOVE it and she was talking about it for days!!

Drawpaintsing, this is some GOOD news especially for one of the fattest states in the nation. Eating well, exercising, etc., like everything else is mostly learned behavior. If children are left to their own, candy and fast food consumption along with NO activity would be how some of these kids would go. While kids are very young, their eating habits can be molded. Even if it changes when they are older, they at least know a good foundation.

firered she is really cute and looks like she's got the moves. You taught her well.
Years ago, it was a Presidential requirement that schools have a physical education program that included physical exercise.
