Local may be on "Extreme Makeover" Sunday
Published Saturday, May 17, 2008
NATCHEZ — A Natchez native may appear on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition that airs from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Kendra Hinson, a student at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary getting her master’s degree in Christian education, volunteered to help build a home for the Usea family in New Orleans.
It was advertised around campus, her mother Jeannie Dickey said, and doing charitable things for others is Hinson’s cup of tea.
That’s how she ended up working on the house.
Dickey said Hinson worked from start to finish on the house but was not able to attend the unveiling of the house to the family.

I also know that Will Merritt, formerly of Vidalia, volunteered on one of the extreme makeover homes near his college in Arkansas. Great local kids, giving back. They make our area proud. Kudos to both of them and all the other young people from our area who are away from home and doing good things where they are.

Saw part of the emotional show and it did make me very proud. The Usea
family are outstanding and are great American role models of what we should all do in life to help with out condition.
