Franklin County finishes fourth in Class 3A State track meet

Published Wednesday, May 14, 2008

JACKSON — Franklin County’s Antonie Guice won gold in the 200 and 400 meter sprint and finished third in the 100 to pace the Franklin County track team to a fourth place finish in the Class 3A State Track & Field Tournament Saturday afternoon.

Coached by Tony Gibbs and assisted by David Tadlock, the Bulldogs used the quickness of Guice to make an impact. Guice a 4-year lettermen for the Bulldogs is a highly touted speedster with several track scholarship offers.

Gibbs considers Guice one of the fastest track stars he’s ever coached at Franklin High. And after Saturday, Guice has the awards to prove it.

They got 6th, not 4th place. Why did Coach Loy resign?

Yes, he resigned. I don't know the scoop, but it had something to do with him and new fb coach. I think Loy thought his services could better be used elsewhere.
