NATCHEZ — Quick work by the Natchez Fire Department saved a mobile home from burning up as a result of a truck fire Wednesday night at approximately 7:40 p.m.
The truck was parked near a mobile home at 16 Frederick Road in Plantation Mobile Home Park off U.S. 61, south of Natchez.
Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said the fire had spread to the outside of the mobile home.
“The fire department responded quickly and saved the home,” Patten said. “People better realize it’s extremely dry.”
Darryl Smith, Adams County Fire Services coordinator, has asked residents not to burn anything until dry conditions change.
