VIDALIA — A Vidalia family’s house was destroyed earlier this afternoon on Charles Street, but no injuries were reported in the blaze.

Vidalia Fire Department officials responded to the call at approximately 1 p.m.

VFD officials on scene said no one was inside the house when the fire started.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

City of Vidalia officials reached out to the community through social media asking community members to help the family impacted by the fire.

“Fire today in Vidalia destroyed this family’s home. Any help is appreciated,” the post read. “Katie and Lil Johnny Ladd Donald. Daughter size is 6/7, son 5T, baby daughter 2/3T.”

The post stated donations could be dropped of at 2035 Robert Gray Street or at 2054 Charles Street in Vidalia.
