HOUSTON — The overall winner in the Mid-West Steel Building Company 2012 Design Build competition is the Magnolia Bluffs Casino, in Natchez.
The general contractor of the casino was R.A. Edgin Construction of Natchez; the erector and roofing contractor was R.K. Wallace of Jayess and the designer was Ed Vance and Associates, Las Vegas.
The building is owned by Premier Gaming Group, Union, Ky.
The building partially hangs over the Mississippi river, which made it a challenge to build, as a portion of the construction involved driving pilings into the river to support a large portion of the building.
The metal roof was chosen to adhere with the local historic preservation efforts.
